Poison Apples are Not Good to Eat

I have to say, I’m not really a big fan of Halloween. At least the adult kind of Halloween. I hate scary movies. I won’t even walk by a Haunted House. (except the Disneyland one, of course) And gore? Um….nope.

But kid Halloween?
I’m all over that!

Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin.
Garfield yelling “candy, candy, candy, candy.”
Hocus Pocus? Aboslutely!
I pretty much will watch Halloweentown 20 times before the season is over.

So even though I wanted a more “adult” Halloween decor this year. That just means it looks sophisticated. Not that I’m gonna put a Scream mask out. Because that will NEVER happen.

What it does mean, is reveling in the glory that is The Villains. Oh man. I love those Villains. And as a kid, they were just enough scary to still be fun.

The one that was always a bit iffy….was the Wicked Queen from Snow White.
Pretty sure I bawled outside the Snow White ride when I was 5. And then, instead of choosing another ride…..my family left me outside bawling and went anyway. Oh those were different times….weren’t they? I think I toughened up after that though.

Anyway, when I started thinking about what kind of art would be “just enough” to display in my Halloween decor…..that witch came to mind.

‘Member this part? When she turns from the Queen into the Witch? It is still borderline for me. (see? I’m not kidding. I don’t do scary!)

That part where she drinks a scream?  It’s pretty much complete awesome!

I decided to interpret part of the movie in my piece of art.  It’s kind of modern, but kind of vintage.  Which is EXACTLY my favorite kind of decor right now.

“Seeping Death” isn’t my favorite term of all time.  But still.  It’s just spooky enough to be perfection.  Especially that skeleton on the apple.

Would you like to let the Witch bring “just enough scary” to your Halloween decor this year?  Well you’re in luck! I’m offering the full-size 16×20 poster for your barely-scary Halloween pleasure!

Click on the arrow with a line under it…in the above window. Just press it, and the image file should download right to your computer! Easy Peezy!

You can then print the file anywhere you’d like. This file is sized at 16×20 inches. It will not print optimally at a bigger size. (But you can print it at a smaller size if you’d like.)

As usual PLEASE follow the following rules for Less Cake {more frosting} printables:

  • LCMF prinatables are for PERSONAL USE only. You may not re-sell, re-distribute, or claim them as your own.
  • Please do not remove the watermark.
  • If posting on the internet, you MUST post a link back to this website.
  • Personalization, color changes, and other customizations are not available on freebie printables. They are offered “as-is”.

This awesome poster has been added to my Black & White decor.  And it’s all coming together better than I’d planned.  I can’t wait to keep sharing it with you over the next few weeks!

Speaking of sharing……what are your favorite Halloween movies?  Just wondering if I’m completely alone in the “no scariness” club.

Looks great–and just the right amount of creepy. I’m not into actually scary stuff either (haven’t been able to watch a scary movie since The Ring!) But I also will never decorate with spiders–just can’t do it :)

You bet! My daughter loves princesses too. Don’t they all? But for some reason she doesn’t mind the Witch. Ursala on the other hand? Not so much.

I was scared out of my wits by that witch and queen! Bad witches in general give me the willies. I love Hocus Pocus…amuck amuck amuck! I made a huge sign for Halloween 9 yrs. ago with a quote from the Wicked Witch in W of Oz. It’s still in my kitchen and every time I look at it…I hear her voice saying the words in my head. Maybe the embarrassment of admitting that will inspire me to climb up and get it down! LOL In my defense, it’s really big and nailed into the wall about 12 feet up.
    Thanks for the printable!

That is amazing!!! And yes, I will tell you that I have seen Snow White ONE time. When I was about 7 I guess. I was SO upset when she died and when all of the little dwarfs were sad. I guess I should get over that?

And I’m with you: scary movies are a NO go. I’ll go to a haunted house if I either have a)my daddy, or b) my hubby, but hubby doesn’t do haunted houses! Scary movies freak me out and give me bad dreams. I’ll take Charlie Brown and Garfield any day :)

And I cannot stand adult Halloween either. Even the calmest “scary” movies freak me out, blood, guts, and gore, um no thank you. When it gets dark on Halloween I can’t wait for it to be over, especially when the big kids trick-or-treat, yikes!! But I too LOVE celebrating the fun, happy part of Halloween with my boys ;) Charlie Brown totally my speed! ;)

I use to do scary when I was younger. I remember liking Nightmare on Elm Street. But now I don’t do them at all. The possible reality is just too scary to handle, and I’m not fond of sleeping with the lights on.

I just like that “freaked” out feeling I get from a scary movie, and snuggling up to my husband during it!!! However, that isn’t really my decorating style, I like the traditional halloween decorations!!

I am one of those weirdos that puts their Halloween decorations out at the beginning of September…My new neighbors kind of gave me the side eye, but Halloween is my favorite holiday (second is Christmas). I’m all about the grown-up side of Halloween, I love to watch scary movies (scary, not gore), go to Haunted Houses, but I also still enjoy the kid aspect. We still carve pumpkins (usually on my birthday). BUT, I don’t really enjoy Halloween parties, weird, I know.
