I have to say, I’m not really a big fan of Halloween. At least the adult kind of Halloween. I hate scary movies. I won’t even walk by a Haunted House. (except the Disneyland one, of course) And gore? Um….nope.
But kid Halloween?
I’m all over that!
Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin.
Garfield yelling “candy, candy, candy, candy.”
Hocus Pocus? Aboslutely!
I pretty much will watch Halloweentown 20 times before the season is over.
So even though I wanted a more “adult” Halloween decor this year. That just means it looks sophisticated. Not that I’m gonna put a Scream mask out. Because that will NEVER happen.
What it does mean, is reveling in the glory that is The Villains. Oh man. I love those Villains. And as a kid, they were just enough scary to still be fun.
The one that was always a bit iffy….was the Wicked Queen from Snow White.
Pretty sure I bawled outside the Snow White ride when I was 5. And then, instead of choosing another ride…..my family left me outside bawling and went anyway. Oh those were different times….weren’t they? I think I toughened up after that though.
Anyway, when I started thinking about what kind of art would be “just enough” to display in my Halloween decor…..that witch came to mind.
‘Member this part? When she turns from the Queen into the Witch? It is still borderline for me. (see? I’m not kidding. I don’t do scary!)
That part where she drinks a scream? It’s pretty much complete awesome!
I decided to interpret part of the movie in my piece of art. It’s kind of modern, but kind of vintage. Which is EXACTLY my favorite kind of decor right now.
“Seeping Death” isn’t my favorite term of all time. But still. It’s just spooky enough to be perfection. Especially that skeleton on the apple.
Would you like to let the Witch bring “just enough scary” to your Halloween decor this year? Well you’re in luck! I’m offering the full-size 16×20 poster for your barely-scary Halloween pleasure!
Click on the arrow with a line under it…in the above window. Just press it, and the image file should download right to your computer! Easy Peezy!
You can then print the file anywhere you’d like. This file is sized at 16×20 inches. It will not print optimally at a bigger size. (But you can print it at a smaller size if you’d like.)
As usual PLEASE follow the following rules for Less Cake {more frosting} printables:
- LCMF prinatables are for PERSONAL USE only. You may not re-sell, re-distribute, or claim them as your own.

This awesome poster has been added to my Black & White decor. And it’s all coming together better than I’d planned. I can’t wait to keep sharing it with you over the next few weeks!
Speaking of sharing……what are your favorite Halloween movies? Just wondering if I’m completely alone in the “no scariness” club.

Looks great–and just the right amount of creepy. I’m not into actually scary stuff either (haven’t been able to watch a scary movie since The Ring!) But I also will never decorate with spiders–just can’t do it
My son hates spiders too. That little metal one in the picture is NOT his favorite.
I love it! My daughter is absolutely OBSESSED with Snow White…and every other princess movie. But I do think this villain is among the scariest. She’s so creepy! Thanks for the printable…you did a fabulous job
You bet! My daughter loves princesses too. Don’t they all? But for some reason she doesn’t mind the Witch. Ursala on the other hand? Not so much.
Very cool!!! I don’t do gore, either. A little spooky for Halloween is cool, but not really scary! Can’t wait to see your decor!
Thanks K! Gore is gross.
Holy heck…this is AWESOME. Thank you!!!!
Thanks again Maggie for the shout out on Twitter.
Crazy in love with this!!
kisses
I heart you.
I was scared out of my wits by that witch and queen! Bad witches in general give me the willies. I love Hocus Pocus…amuck amuck amuck! I made a huge sign for Halloween 9 yrs. ago with a quote from the Wicked Witch in W of Oz. It’s still in my kitchen and every time I look at it…I hear her voice saying the words in my head. Maybe the embarrassment of admitting that will inspire me to climb up and get it down! LOL In my defense, it’s really big and nailed into the wall about 12 feet up.
Thanks for the printable!
Wicked witch from Wizard of Oz is awesome! I almost made a quote from her instead. Maybe next year.
Oh I love it!! So spooky AND chic! I’m a new follower!
Jo-Anna
Welcome, Jo-Anna! I’m so happy to have you!
Super cute! Perfect for the more sophisticated Halloween.
Nice. That’s what I’m going for.
Wow Ellie, this is awesome! I’m with you on the scary Halloween thing. I can handle a little scary, but I love the more classic look. And I definitely don’t do horror movies!
Right? Horror movies are the worst! I just don’t get them. Thanks Kara!
I never thought that I would call a “sleeping death” print fabulous, but fabulous it is! Thanks for sharing!
It’s kind of morbid. In a cool and glamorous way. I love that you called it fabulous!
That is amazing!!! And yes, I will tell you that I have seen Snow White ONE time. When I was about 7 I guess. I was SO upset when she died and when all of the little dwarfs were sad. I guess I should get over that?
And I’m with you: scary movies are a NO go. I’ll go to a haunted house if I either have a)my daddy, or b) my hubby, but hubby doesn’t do haunted houses! Scary movies freak me out and give me bad dreams. I’ll take Charlie Brown and Garfield any day
It is sort of a traumatic movie! Isn’t it? But I do still like it.
Probably not as much as Garfield though.
Oh I so don’t do scary either. Although I do love the movie Hocus Pocus! Thanks for the printable I can’t wait to put it up for Halloween!
Hocus Pocus is one of our favorites. I bet we’ll have it out to watch in the next week or so!
Seriously Lara!! You are a genius!! This has got to be my favorite printable ever. LOVE IT!
This is perfect! I’ll definitely be printing it – and pinning, stumbling, and shouting on FB how awesome you are.
I feel the same way about Halloween – I’m kind of all about “Disney” level of spooky – not actually scary.
Thanks so much!!
EVER?? Awww…..Bev. You are so nice to me. Thank you so much for all your sweet comments and promotion. You are so amazing.
This. Is. Awesome. I love Hallowe’en, and you just made my day, Lara! I have the creepy spiders and just the right frame to go with it, thankyouthankyouthankyou!!
Yay! I love making people’s day. You just made mine.
OH! I love this, and am also doing a silver, white, black “glamor” style halloween this year (hopefully!!) so this will fit perfectly, thanks so much for sharing!!
Glamour Hallowen sounds FANTASTIC! I’m all about that!
okay, I am seriously IN LOVE with this! You’re amazing!
Thank you Brycie. So nice of you to say!
Love this!! So great, thank you!!
And I cannot stand adult Halloween either. Even the calmest “scary” movies freak me out, blood, guts, and gore, um no thank you. When it gets dark on Halloween I can’t wait for it to be over, especially when the big kids trick-or-treat, yikes!! But I too LOVE celebrating the fun, happy part of Halloween with my boys
Charlie Brown totally my speed!
I HATE big kid trick-or-treaters! They scare the crap out of me. And they trick-or-treat with pillowcases. Which isn’t my favorite either.
Such a great printable. Thank you soo much!
I use to do scary when I was younger. I remember liking Nightmare on Elm Street. But now I don’t do them at all. The possible reality is just too scary to handle, and I’m not fond of sleeping with the lights on.
Me neither! I think I closed my eyes through Bride of Chucky once at a sleepover. That was my last sleepover.
LOVE this! Creepy but not so much! Sharing with my FB fans because it is just that fabulous!
It can’t be even as remotely as fabulous as you are.
Thanks for always being so supportive. You’re like a really great bra. Super supportive.
Um this is pretty much perfection in EVERY way! Totally hit the nail on the head with the balance between scary and fantastic! Love it and pinning it immediately!!
Awww….thank you. That’s totally what I was going for, so that is a super nice, and appreciated, comment!
awesome, ellie. love it all..the skeleton apple..the witch’s hand. LOVE IT.:)
Thank you so much!
This is great!!! I actually think I will print it off…which I hardly ever do. Having said that, I think the scarier the better!! I love scary movies and every thing else that goes along with it! I just like that “freaked” out feeling I get from a scary movie, and snuggling up to my husband during it!!! However, that isn’t really my decorating style, I like the traditional halloween decorations!!
Thanks for the free printable!!!
You bet. I get that feeling. I think it’s why I like roller coasters. But I just can’t get it from monsters.
ooooh-this is fabulous! How creatively awesome you are! Have I mentioned that I am completely jealous of your digital creating skills? Totally!
Awesome!!
Have I mentioned that I SUCK at painting stuff. Maybe we should trade!
Thanks Tausha!
I love, LOVE your printables. I have quite the collection saved on my computer now. So thank you! And I also don’t do scary movies. I saw “Signs” in the theater when it came out and about jumped into my date’s lap. Now that I’m married and that wouldn’t be quite as embarrassing, I still don’t do them. I’m with you, I like happy movies.
Yay happy movies! And I love that you have a collection of printables. That makes me happy!
Perfect printable! Absolutely LOVE it!
This is incredible! I love the skeleton apple. The whole printable is perfect.
L.O.V.E!! Seriously, girl – you are awesome!! This is flippin’ cool… can’t wait to get it printed soon.
Yay! I hope you can. I think you’re awesome too….PS
I am one of those weirdos that puts their Halloween decorations out at the beginning of September…My new neighbors kind of gave me the side eye, but Halloween is my favorite holiday (second is Christmas). I’m all about the grown-up side of Halloween, I love to watch scary movies (scary, not gore), go to Haunted Houses, but I also still enjoy the kid aspect. We still carve pumpkins (usually on my birthday). BUT, I don’t really enjoy Halloween parties, weird, I know.
That is an awesome combo. No parties, but haunted houses? I think having a birthday around Halloween would be super fun. Lots of celebrating going on!
Love this! Thanks so much! I don’t really have a favorite Halloween movie as I love all scary movies…well the actual scary ones that is. The scarier the better!
Oh that is AWESOME! I am going to have to print that one out…the Wicked Queen from Snow White is my alter ego…just ask my kiddos
The print will look great as a decoration for my annual Witch’s Ball this year too! Thanks SO much for sharing!
A witches ball? Now that sounds fantastic!
Look absolutely awesome! I HATE all things scary, always have..so I’ve never really decorated for Halloween but this beautiful print might just change my mind!
I love this printable. So cool! You are one talented lady! Thanks for sharing!
I really like “Lady in White”.
thank you so much, it’s great!!
Thanks for offering this! I am not a Halloween person either, but this is really fantastic and my kids have been begging me to decorate for halloween this year… i guess I’ll start!
I’m right there with ya on the gory side of Halloween. But I do like the adult sinister Halloween and all the fun things you can do with that. I love your free printable I have the perfect frame for it. I also did a spell book with the poison apple spell as one of the display pages (since it is a dictionary). Thanks again. : )
Oh man! That sounds like a perfect combo. I love that spell book from the movie. It’s so old and spooky! I hope you can use it.
Love this!!! Great job!! And Im weird about Halloween. I don’t like the whole “dress up” part, I love to decorate, Love scary movies, HATE haunted Houses!!! Weird…I know…
I love this! Thank you so much for sharing. I needed some new Halloween decorations, and this just works wonderfully.
Wow I love it! So different to everything else thats out there.
Perfect! I know exactly where to put it up!
I featured your beautiful Halloween printable over at Lemon Drop Life! Check it out here: http://www.lemondroplife.com/2011/09/24/best-in-show-2/
I love the sleeping death, its perfect for the door. Thanks
I love this printable!! I tried to have Walmart print it for me today and the told me it is copyrighted and I need to get authorization to use it
( I am so bummed it would have looked awesome in my entry.
Sooo pity I just see this today, but I’ll definitely use it next year.
Thanks a lot.
Spooky fun! Thanks for the download.
I, too, am not a big halloween fan, but I can see how this might be of use for a few things I do need to make next year. My tried-and-true have become old-and stale. Thanks for sharing something new!
Do you offer this picture for sale without the water mark?
Love it! Thank you so much.
Thank you! I will be using this for our family halloween party this year
Ellie,
I must say this was my favorite Halloween printable that I gathered this year! I even set up a poison apple display in my blog series called Thrifty Spook! I’m all about using what I have or making do with what I can find.
Thank you for inspiring me!
Cheers,
