Trick or Treat Tote-with Lifestyle Crafts

Are you gonna get up in arms if I post a Halloween project?
I wore long pants today. Not because it was cold, but just because it wasn’t 100 degrees. And it felt fab.

As soon as I’ve had Labor Day I’m about ready to get a move on into Fall.  I adore Summer.  But my poor son has been attending school in 100 degree temps and NO AIR CONDITIONING.  I just need it to cool down so he can survive school.

I’m actually getting really excited for Halloween this year.

I’m going out on a limb and doing a primarily Black & White Halloween.  So I have been thinking of a few extra things to add here and there.

This is my very first addition to the brand new decor:

I started off with one of those collapseable totes that you can find at a lot of stores.  Either in the organization isle, or in the office supply isle.  (this one was purchased at WalMart $6)

Then I got out the BRAND NEW WEB DIE from Lifestyle Crafts.  It is an awesomely intricate strip of super spooky webs.   I actually tried it out on paper first, just to see what it looked like.  The cuts are so clean and the pieces pop right out.  Super slick.

But I’m using an iron-on fuzzy vinyl for this project.  And since that has one sticky side, I had to weed out the webs.  It took about an hour to weed the 4 strips I used, but I just sat and did it while I watched TV.  No big deal.  The cuts are still fantastic, and it came out pretty easily.

Because I would be joining a few strips together, I decided to cut off the ends of the design.  So it would look continuous.  But if you’re just using one strip, these edges make it look super finished.  Love them!

Next I ironed on the strips around the outside of the tote, according to the directions on the adhesive vinyl.  Each brand is different, so just make sure you read the directions, and be patient.

Finally, I used the NESTING FRAME 5 to make a super cool front tag for the box.  I also cut out the words “Trick or Treat” allowing the white from the box to show through.  (that font is called “Boere Tudor” in case you’re wondering)

I’m going to be using this fabulous Black & White beauty to pass out our Trick or Treat candy this year!  I’m so excited!  I usually just use an ugly bowl.  I can’t wait to have something cute to fill up.  (oh, and PS….yes….I will be giving out better candy than just taffy.  But I just KNEW that if I bought REAL treats to fill this up…there was NO WAY it was making it to Halloween.  It would jump right into my mouth, and onto my thighs.  Plus….that taffy is just super cute!!)

And the other thing I find particularly marvelous about it, is that it folds flat for storage until next year!  Pretty much FAN-FREAKIN-TASTIC!!

Lifestyle Crafts has some brand new Fall Holiday releases out today! Yay!  (the Spider Web Die is one of them)

Looks great! I too am itching to do something “fall-y!” The rain today almost made me run downstairs and get my halloween totes out. almost…
I see that you too are a salt water taffy lover? Candy in general if I remember correctly?!
Love it all! I want to break out the jeans as well.
    Happy week!!

Yes. All sugary candy. The purple ones are grape. They’re actually really yummy. I’m gonna have to chuck ‘em or I’ll eat them ALL! Halloween is definitely coming out in the next couple weeks here!

You are quickly making it hard for me to not like Halloween. Classic black and white decor for the black and white queen.
