Black & White: Halloween gets GLAM!

I am finally ready to reveal the result of this years Halloween decor overhaul. As many of you know, I’ve been aiming for an ALL Black & White decor this year. Which meant a few purchases.

Of course it’s not perfect, nothing ever is. But it’s important to remember that there’s always next year. I’m actually kind of giddy over it.

I feel like I’m living in the Tower of Terror.
Which makes me think I’m living in Disneyland.
Which is pretty much my greatest dream in life.

The idea kind of started last year when I made this Headless Horseman artpiece.   I fell in love with the vintage, and spooky feel from the black and white. (ps..that glittery pumpkin is the ONLY orange in our whole main floor decor!)

And of course that left room for the vision of the Poison Apple Art that I made, and shared, this year.

Then I took it outside to make a little glam makeover to my versatile door frame.  (which has already been made over for summer, and spring)

And glam up my floating shelves with one of my topiary trees, and a super cheap party centerpiece.  (yep, that ‘lil beauty is flocked plastic.  You’d never know…would you?  One of my FAVORITE additions to my decor.  Check unexpected aisles gals, you WON’T be disappointed!)

And….you may notice that the awesome scroll-ee frame is empty.  I shall be remedying that next week with another fun Halloween printable.  Do you think I’ll share it?  (I’m gonna guess the answer is YES!!)

And finally the icing on the cake…..the MANTLE!

I really love it.  The zebra hat box has to be one of my favorite parts.  Especially with that big metal spider hanging on it!  The large glass jar is filled with the leftover berries from the stick tree.  (use it or lose it!)

I’m gonna give away all my secrets here:

  • The spooky drinking glasses are plastic
  • The glass items are 80% thrifted
  • The big black plate is plastic and vinyl lettering (made last year: Post about it is HERE)
  • The cobweb is wire (and I wish I made it, but it was only $6 and I thought it was SO worth it not to have to tie all those individual wire pieces together)

I’m just super stoked about this look.  And kind of stoked for thinking about it for another year, so I can add more next time!

I actually have a couple more “how-to” posts next week on how you can achieve a super glam look on a super SLIM budget.  It is so POSSIBLE!

And don’t forget that printable coming up as well.  (I have a pretty good idea what it’s gonna be….here’s a clue:

“I don’t see how a pumpkin patch can be more sincere than this one.
You can look around and there’s not a sign of hypocrisy.
Nothing but sincerity as far as the eye can see. “

So happy glam Halloween to you and yours! Add a little glam to your Halloween. (and take out a little gore. Gross! Okay….I know some of you like gore. I’m just never gonna get on that train. No need to save me a seat on the gore train. It’s probably bloody anyway. Seriously!)

I’m digging the black and white! So simple yet so elegant.
And I’m with you… not so much into gore. Creepy? Classic? or Vintage? That I do for Halloween.

P.S. Love the flocked plastic candelabra!!
