Today’s one word guest is a super dear friend of mine. And is an AMAZING PERSON! If you haven’t met Tauni…..you’re missing out!
Tauni: founder of SNAP!
The Creative Conference
Tauni is one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. She is nurturing and sweet. She makes you feel smart, and valued. It’s pretty much the greatest feeling ever. No wonder people flock to be by her side! And this year Tauni is undertaking the very first SNAP! Conference.
Geared toward anyone with a creative mind, SNAP! will feature speakers from every aspect of the creative community. From parties, to handmade, to crafting, to DIY. It’s all gonna be there at SNAP!
I seriously can’t wait until April!
Let’s let the busy and awesome Miss Tauni share her word with us for 2012…..

When Lara asked if I would participate in her one word resolution series I was supremely flattered and jumped at the chance.
Fast forward several weeks later and that jump? Well, it’s required me to cover a lot more ground than I had initially bargained on.
I have never set a one word resolution…This shouldn’t shock anyone who knows me considering I am the type of girl who always uses 10 words when five would probably do!
Needless to say, this post very nearly became 101 Beautiful Words.
After a lot of reflection, a little narrowing down and a bit of hesitation, my 2012 One Word Resolution is:
To say that I’ve got a lot going on right now, would be putting it mildly. This year promises to be filled with big events. Events, that depending on how I handle them, could emerge as my life’s greatest successes or striking failure.
It’s the fear of that failure that terrifies me. It is distracting. It can be paralyzing.
It’s why you’ll occasionally find me watching reality television instead of responding to important emails or playing with my dog instead of the boys that will soon be mine.
This year, I will have the courage to put it all on the line. This year, I will have the courage to become a wife AND a parent. This year, I will have the courage to stand up and speak, but also sit down and listen. This year, I will have the courage to make my dreams come true.
And psssttt…..the ticket price is going up to full price at the end of this week! So make your decision now! Tell Tauni that Ellie G sent you! (I’ll be there!)
(ps…I’ve had a lot of people share their One Word posts with me via comments or e-mail. I wish I could feature them all! But, I promise at the end of the event we’re gonna have a place for EVERYONE to share! Deal?)

Lara, thanks so very much for letting me participate in your one word series and for the very kind words (most of them I am not sure I deserve). I love you bunches my dear friend. xoxo
Tauni!!! I love you. And I love your word
And P.S. You are one Hottie Pa-tottie in that picture!
Stacy, Thank you so very much friend. I really did have a hard time coming up with the word, but I think it is perfect for this year.
And thanks for your sweet comments about my photo
xoxo
Ummm…. HOT STUFF Tauni! Love the picture. Seriously.
Dude. I suck at courage. You rock.
Thanks Steph. I have been struggling with courage myself lately, but just announcing my word to the world here on Lara’s blog means I shall have to stick with it!
xoxo
Tauni
You are so pretty, dear Tauni! “Courage” is a good choice. I like it. I went with a theme (Seize the day!) this year myself as far as resolutions go. I didn’t quite whittle it down to a word, but still…
Silja, You of all people would know how hard it was for me to come up with just one word! LOL. I love your theme. It’s perfect for you!
xoxo
Tauni
Tauni,
First, I love the word “courage”! That just might be my 2013 word!
Secondly, your hair looks amazing and makes your pretty eyes pop.
Can’t wait to see you again!
Thanks Kari! I have enjoyed leaving the lighter hair behind…I’ve always been jealous of pretty girls with dark hair like yours!
xoxo
Love it Tauni!!!! You are such a great friend who shares so much of herself with all of us! That my dear is courage at it’s best!
Thanks Becca! That was so sweet of you to say
Oh my gosh! I love your picture. You’re gorgeous! And what a great word. I think we all need more courage, although I think you’re already pretty courageous.
Leanne, oh my gosh. You’re so sweet. I really appreciate the nice compliment!
Kirsten, Sometimes I think that my “courage” is due to my somewhat spontaneous nature when it comes to big decisions…Which is odd, because I can’t for the life of me decide where to go to dinner! LOL. There’s been a lot of second guessing, but I think you’re right…so much of it comes down to higher timing!
xoxo
Tauni, this post was freakin’ awesome! First off, that picture of you is HOT. Second, I love the word “courage”- that simple, powerful word got me through a very difficult time in my life about 6-7 years ago. I love this quote: “Courage is not always a roar. Sometimes, its the quiet voice at the end of the day that whispers, ‘I’ll try again tomorrow.’” Lastly, I want us to be better friends! Every time I hear about you or “see” you around (twitter, snap updates, blog posts like these) I think, “I want to be Tauni’s friend!” I prematurely decided last year I wouldn’t be able to go to SNAP since I will have an 8 month old, but as the time comes closer, I’m contemplating it more and more and I totally feel like if I don’t go, I am going to miss out, BIG TIME! I am excited to see you at CHA next week- we’ll have to catch up and hang out! And this comment is now a freakin’ letter, so I’ll stop here! Love this series Lara!!!!
Stephanie, Thanks so much for the sweet compliment on my photo. I have to give props to one of our speakers Emilie, who took it…You can see what a great job she does. I am especially grateful for the extra pounds that camera angle took off! LOL
That quote about courage is lovely. I hadn’t thought a ton about it, but sometimes the hardest thing is getting up and trying again, isn’t it?
I am really looking forward to seeing you next week! We shall have to talk about all things SNAP! I already think you’re wonderful, but it will be so nice to get to know you even better.
xoxo
Tauni
You are the epitome of courage! You are an amazing business woman! I really look up to you and admire you for that!
Thank you so much my friend. I am going to show this comment to Derek the next time he tries to go through my books…Turns out the only thing I do right when it comes to finances is save my receipts like a hoarder
Love your guts!
