2012-One Word: Whipperberry {dream}

Today’s “One Word, One Goal-2012″ series guest is the one and only Miss Heather from Whipperberry.

For reals.

I can’t even begin to express how awesome she is.

She makes the ordinary look and feel extraordinary.
And she makes me laugh.
And she’s a great friend.

I’m pretty much DYING over her contribution. And I might have to steal her word for next year. (and if that sign disappears…..I had NOTHING to do with it!)

I am thrilled to be here at Lara’s place today.  She is such a dear sweet friend and I am truly honored that she asked me to be a part of her One Word Goal for 2012 series!! I am Heather from WhipperBerry…

Lara is brilliant and gave me plenty of time to work things through in my head to try and discover what my one word should be for 2012. After weeks of contimplation it finally hit me while in the shower {for some reason I do my best thinking there.}  My one word for this year is…

“Your dreams are never too big to turn into reality. Work hard, stay focused, surround yourself with supportive people, and remember to have patience.” {via Jennifer of Pretty Pen Studio}

The word dream really struck a cord with me for many reasons…

  • A dream is different from a wish.  A dream implies that you have control over whether the dream will come true.  A wish is thrown out to the universe in hopes that one day it will come true.

  • I also love the child like quality that the word dream has. It has taken me MANY years to learn that in order to be happy one must continue to dream.  As I grew from a child into a young adult I felt like if I continued to dream I could not be considered an adult.  I had been filled with ideas that as one grows up, you must figure out how to provide for yourself and your family and just go work leaving all your child like dreams behind.  To continue to dream was irresponsible and had no place in an adult world. I have since CHANGED MY MIND!!

So for me, this year, my one word is DREAM.  It will be there to constantly remind me to continue to dream and then to WORK HARD to make them come true.  For… to dream is not foolish, but the vision of sweet possibility!

Lara my dear… I owe you a box of chocolates for helping me dig deep and work to rediscover who I truly am and who I want to become!!

kisses | heather

PS….DON’T send me chocolates, Heather!  I’m trying to “refine” my tastes to enjoy only veggies and whole grains.  It’s not going well so far. :)

Put Whipperberry on your MUST READ list! Promise. You can thank me later.

    I am going to get “word” envy really quickly. I can tell. I love this series and I love my dear darling Heather. It was so nice to read her sweet words.

    P.S. when you figure out how to “refine” your palate so that you no longer enjoy sweets please let me know!

      Word envy? That’s a new one! And yeah. I ate leftover whoppers from the hubs trip to the Jazz suite today. I didn’t even really want them. I have a sickness.

    What a beautiful post! I love Heather as well…she is such a kind and warm soul! And this one word for the year thing…love it! I’ve chosen my word to be CHALLENGE. I want to challenge myself, I want to be challenged by others, I know more challenges will come my way and I’m ready to take them on! Happy New Year to both you and Heather and dream big!

      Challenge is an amazing one. I need to make it my goal to be up for having that as a word in the future!

    I loved this post! I always enjoy reading your blog, and I read Heather’s as well! I love this concept of a one word goal for the year. My word this year is ACTION! I too am a chronic procrastinator, and I am trying to focus on taking action this year, instead of putting things off for later! Thanks for this, and keep posting!
