Today’s “One Word, One Goal-2012″ series guest is one of my favorite bloggie buddies both online, and in-real-life Miss Becca from Blue Cricket Design.
Besides making me laugh out loud almost every day….Becca’s the kind of friend that will find out you are feeling sick and stop by with soup. She will meet you at Target. She will tell you she’s headed to Gygi’s. She would give you the shirt of her actual back. And it will be a really cute one! She’s just the best.
Her blog is filled with amazing creative projects, and LOTS of opportunities for you to show off what you’ve been doing as well. She has a FANTASTIC Show and Tell linky every Wednesday.
I love that she agreed to come hang out with me today!

There will never be a more meaningful relationship then the one I have with my husband! I adore this guy and he equally adores me but in any relationship it takes a lot of work to feel that adoration all the time! You can’t just wake up every morning and feel like you did when you were dating and shared your first kiss. Love takes meaningful effort, on purpose actions and deliberate attention and that’s why this year I’ll be focusing on the word “Us!”
Two little letters that when put together mean the world to me. “Us!” We never really say that word much if you think about it… “You, me, him, his…” We think about each other as two separate people most of the time but together we are “Us.”
I want to do more for us. I want us to be closer. I want us to go on dates. I want us to be each others biggest fans, loudest cheerleaders and each others soft place to land! So this year I’ll be thinking about ways to keep us in this blissful state we’re in, how to help us grow as a couple and as parents and how to give us more time together! Sound cheesy I know but really I can’t think of a better thing to focus on!
I love this one Becca! I NEVER would have thought of that word. Like NEVER! And I kinda feel like that says something about me. EEKERS!
I think focusing on a relationship is amazing. And it doesn’t have to be a marriage. It could be with a child, or a Mother, or a friend. Just focusing way less on “I” and way MORE on “us”.
It gets you out of yourself. You know?
Love it!

You’re right Lara, that IS a fantastic word. I love it!
Becca–great choice, and I’m excited to get to meet you at Snap!
SNAP is going to be amazing! Can’t wait to meet you there too!
It’s amazing. But that’s to be expected. Becca’s pretty darn fantastic!
I love Becca’s word choice for the year. I think it’s so sweet. Fitting, because she is just as wonderful. In fact, I totally agree with you. She would give you the shirt off her back…I could only fit one arm into said shirt, but it’s the thought that counts, right?!
xoxo
Love you Tauni!
EXACTLY! I forgot to mention that part. About how the shirt would fit your 9 year old. But still….:D
DORKS!
This is a great word. And I love Becca! She’s so talented and real. One of the nicest people I’ve ever met.
Gee thanks sweet friend! So fun to be spending more time with you lately!
Yes. All true. As are you, Leanne!
Excellent! Love that word
“Us”…super awesome word Becca. You guys are adorable together!
I am writing all the words down and I want to do a picture collection on my wall in the family room with words cut out on my cameo and weaved among the pictures. So keep those words flowing.
What a fun idea Shirley! I’ve got lots of great ones coming! This series is just so stinkin’ fun!
you two are totally CUTE! love this word! made me think….
Thanks, Lara for having me! You said such sweet things about me, you must have gotten my check in the mail! Love ya!
Yes. Yes I did. It said that you’d pay me in shopping trips and lunch.
I absolutely LOVE this word!!! What a great goal, it really got me thinking about ways I can focus more on the US of my husband and I. THANKS Becca!!
Isn’t it a great one? I never would have thought of it. Which doesn’t say very good things about me, I guess. Oops.
Now this is the word I should have picked. As my Hubby and I have been working on Us for some time. After 20 plus years of marriage, we needed a little work.
Great word for the new year.
