One Word-2012: Brassy Apple {adventure}

Today’s “One Word, One Goal-2012″ series guest is a fabulous blogger and a a very successful designer and business owner. Plus she totally photoshopped a pic of she and I onto the sisters during the feather dance in White Christmas. I mean, truly. That says something about a person right there. .

Megan from Brassy Apple

Megan is ALWAYS rockin some super cool duds.  But the thing that I love about her the best is that she’s SUPER tall.  And most days, she’s rockin’ the highest heels in the group!  That takes some serious self-esteem, girls.  But she works it and stands tall as the most elegant woman in the room.  And she is.
Her Brassy Apple shop is loaded with amazing clothing pieces.  Ways to jazz up your own wardrobe.  And just buying stuff from scratch.  All things cool, she carries at her shop.
I’m serious.  If you want to make me your Best Friend forever, photoshop my face onto something I adore.  Megan figured that one out…and now she’s stuck with me. :)
Take it away, Meg!

I am excited to be able to have taken on this challenge of picking a word for the year and getting to share it with the Less Cake readers.
Confession: I am actually a MORE cake LESS or NO frosting type of girl (tee hee hee).
After milling over what my WORD would be, it struck me one day and then just wouldn’t go away!
My word for 2012 is ADVENTURE
There are always the BIG moments to look forward to in life but what about the everyday or the small, quiet moments? I think the mundane everyday can be turned into or viewed as an adventure!
I love this quote:
“In all living have much fun and laughter. Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.”
- Gordon B. Hinckley
So for 2012 I am living an adventurous life! I am going to see more in my everyday. I am going to plan and carry out more of those items on the “someday” list. I am going to go for it!
I took a small journal and created my 2012 Adventure Bucket list! It’s been filled with favorite adventure quotes and pictures that I have collected on Pinterest. Plus some favorite song lyrics that motivate me to continue to pursue the adventure items on my bucket list.

It’s small enough to fit into my purse as a constant reminder and it still has room to journal about the adventures that come my way this year that aren’t even on my list.

As they say in the movie UP -

WOW!  I LOVE this one.  Can’t you just see that little old man and Doug the Dog up in the air trying to catch a breeze and………squirrel!
Anyway.  I tend to be anti-adventure.  The unknown kind of terrifies me.  So maybe as part of my personal refinement I need to add a bit of an adventurous spirit.  After all….I am named after the cute girl from UP that goes on adventures.
See?  It’s Ellie!  Okay…that’s not my real name…but you guys love me as Ellie…right?
I swear I’m moving on to sing the praises of Miss Megan and her fabulous blog and shop!

I just discovered that another blog (TLC) is having a one word challenge next week. That, in a weird way, led me to find your one word 30 day series. I am so glad I did.
I will enjoy meeting new bloggers and businesses and being inspired by their words.
