I’m a label girl. A compartment girl. A “categories” girl. I’m a master organizer. I’m NOT a master cleaner. Like, it’s a super weird combo. My closets are usually very organized and clean. My dishes..not so much. My laundry? Never.
So you can imagine my distress when my closet started to head towards a mess in the jewelry department.
It just wasn’t condusive to keeping it clean OR organized. And even though you might not believe it…I haven’t ALWAYS been a giant ring and flower girl. These are rather new collections. And it’s super hard to find ways to store giant bangles and flowers.
I have looked at OODLES of solutions. Lots of DIY ones. Lots of store-bought ones. I’d love to DIY it. But right now I don’t have a ton of room (or time) to try and fashion a built in, or anything else. My closet is tiny. And I share 1/2 of it with my husband. (please send the “wife of the year” awards to me directly)
I found this option at my local Target store. And I have to be honest with you, it wasn’t as cheap as I usually do. But it was such a perfect solution. It is a plastic cube that you can customize with shelves and drawers. All purchased separately to work for my personal stuff. It’s made by a brand called Itso. But I’ve seen similar things from other companies as well. I LOVE this one, for holding all my stuff.
Of course I couldn’t leave well enough alone, though! I wanted my new jewelry organizer to inspire me every time I opened my closet. So I headed to my Silhouette Cameo. (Did you read that she’s been named?)
I found this super inspiring quote from Emily Dickenson…
Beauty is not caused. It is.
I LOVE quotes that make you think. And Emily has such a way with words! Such a great thing to put on all my pretties to remind me that even though a sparklie ring makes me feel better sometimes. I need to make sure I work on being pretty inside too.
I used my software to put my saying onto some flocked heat transfer material. But you DON’T need to have a cutting machine to do this project. Most hobby stores have flocked iron-on letters. You could just find some you like. (If you do make it with a cutter however….don’t forget to FLIP any text horizontally. You’ll be sad if you don’t.)
Following the instructions on the material, I ironed on the lettering to my fabric drawers. And yes, it was super exciting.
So much prettier. So much smart. So much cleaner. So much awesome-er! (What? It’s a word!)
Now I don’t have to go digging when I need a great piece of jewelry. I know that things are not gonna get squished. I know I can keep things clean. And mostly…..pink makes me happy. The end.

I love, love, love that quote!! So cute! xoxo
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this! I am always looking for storage solutions for my big ring addiction myself. Right now I have them in a storage basket in my top dresser drawer but this may be another option as that is starting to get F-U-L-L. Did I mention we probably could be ‘big ring’ sistas? LOL
How gorgeous! I absolutely love the addition of the quote, what a fantastic daily reminder
it’s reinspired me to do something with my old wooden mini chest of drawers to sparkle them up a bit and prettify them for my jewellery (like yours used to be, my jewellery is a big pile of mess at the moment, and it makes me sad!)

That is a fantastic idea – I love it!
Love, love, LOVE it! And that quote? It is one of my new faves.
That is a fabulous quote…and I love how you added it to the drawers. I think I need to go to Target because this would be absolutely perfect for me to organize my overwhelming pile of jewelry and flowers:-)
Thanks for the blog. Off to Target.
What? What’s that? You’re going to make me one of these? Okay. That would be lovely. Just kidding. I am off to Target
Love this – And just like everyone else… I’ll be heading to Target today!!
Very smart storage indeed! Although, as a former English major, it makes me sad to see dear Emily’s name spelled wrong. It’s “Dickinson” — http://www.poets.org/poet.php/prmPID/155.
Oh, we are so the same! I will alphabetize my bookshelf to avoid doing the dishes! That is an amazing solution for organizing jewelry. Than k you for sharing
I always have the hardest time with jewelry too! For me, I have to have things hanging. Otherwise they get horribly tangled and I never know what I have anyway. I love the quote on your drawers though!
I. Can’t. Stand it !!! I love thiis all so much! I have ZEROOOOOOOOOOO organizing skills. None.
I JUST discovered your blog and I cna see what I shall be doing this morning!!! I just put the coffee on, going to settle in with a nice cuppa vanilla joe in my pajamas and read what you have to say!
