The Cameo Gets a Name

Hi everyone.
First off….I’m BACK!

That is probably the longest blog break I’ve taken in almost 2 years! And it certainly wasn’t planned.

Last week I got a “migraine cluster”. Which is pretty much one headache on top of another. And they’re not real fond of responding to medicine.

I haven’t had one since High School, and it kicked my butt!

So after so much love from my husband, kids, lovely friends…and such nice messages by text and Facebook….some IV meds…rest…and crying.

We’re all good here.

Today was the first day in a week that I’ve felt like I could accomplish something.

It ought to be laundry, or something productive.

Instead…..
I needed a project to rejuvenate.

My project is 90% done and I’ll be sharing it here tomorrow.  Until then…

I realized a tragedy has occurred.

I never decided what to name my Silhouette Cameo machine.

I KNOW!

The previous SD was named “Scarlett” (because all my electronics are named after powerful and awesome girls!  Like my camera…Rachel Berry.  Or my iPhone Aretha iDiva) and I considered just transferring that name.

But today…..it dawned on me……A TRIBUTE!

And so, the new Cameo has been dubbed “Whitney”. In honor of the diva herself.  And what’s better than a name tag?  (PS…I love you turquoise vinyl.  You make my heart skip a beat!)

I used to dance my days away in the basement to this CD.  I thought “Love is a Contact Sport” was the most rockin-est song ever.  I believe my mother called my actions “gyrating”. I am so sad that such a talent is gone.  It’s only fitting that the newest member of the “Ellie G Diva Electronics” family…is named “Whitney”.

Is this crucial? No.
Was it worth it to weed out that tiny vinyl to have a negative space label? YOU BETCHA!
Because it’s the little things that make us happy.

I’m finishing up my project in the morning. And “Whitney” is gonna help.  I’ll be back to share!

In the meantime, find something frivolous that makes you smile.

I’m so so glad you feel better-I’ve missed your updates! This might be what causes me to finally decide to buy a Silhouette. I’ve been torn between a Silhouette and a Cricut and my indecision has kept me from buying either one. Thanks for making my decision for me!! :)

I don’t have any affiliation with either. So I can unbiasedly say I’d pick Silhouette. I love mine, and haven’t regretted the purchase for one single second. :)

Sylvia! Love it. That is a great name. And I’m glad I’m not the only one who names hers.

Darn migraines! I’ve suffered them ever since high school…Not Fun! So glad you’re feeling better.
I am and will forever be a Whitney Houston fan. It makes me so sad that her life turned out the way it did. It should not have been that way. “I’m Every Woman” is my absolute favorite of her songs, and there are oh so many to choose from. I played that song LOUDly, over and over again.

Oh that’s another good one for a pick me up. And Queen of the Night? They’re both on my “girl power” playlist.
