Great Big Chocolate!

For any of you who have been waiting for a Valentines post….

I’m so sorry!  We’ve had sickness, and what-not around here this week.  Probably the same as most of your houses…

I’ve been working all day on a great present, and I’ll be sharing it tomorrow.  I’m currently waiting for it to finish drying.  (it’s super cute, by the way, and you can still get it done before Valentines Day.  Easy!)

Just to hold you off until then, did you miss my fun printable over at Positively Splendid earlier this week?

Well never fear!  Here it is for all the Less Cake {more frosting} readers:

I’ve designed a SUPER easy last second printable to use for your “SWEETIE”. (or….just for yourself…because you deserve it!!!) It’s a printable wrapper for KING SIZE candy bars.  I’ve seen tons for the tiny ones, or the regular size ones, but I like the BIG DADDY!  The one you shouldn’t eat in one sitting.  (but do anyway)

I printed out one just on my own home printer, to show you how easy it is…..it took me 2 minutes to print, and cut it out.
As usual PLEASE follow the following rules for Less Cake {more frosting} printables:

  • LCMF prinatables are for PERSONAL USE only. You may not re-sell, re-distribute, or claim them as your own.
  • Please do not remove the watermark.
  • If posting on the internet, you MUST post a link back to this website.
  • Personalization, color changes, and other customizations are not available on freebie printables. They are offered “as-is”.

You can also run the file to a store and have it printed on a laser printer, or a at a higher quality.  Then it will look even better!

**Honesty Alert**  This candy might be filled with an empty piece of aluminum foil.  I may have had a midnight EMERGENCY for an entire bar……and then wrapped up air for this photo.  Ooops!

Just crease the paper, along the sides, and use some double sided sticky tape to fasten the wrapper along the back side.

Even the ingredients are listed to give your “SWEETIE” a giggle.  I particularly love how where it lists the Fat content….it tells me “you are so NOT fat!” (seriously, you have to print it out and read it….I was cracking myself up!)

And if you need help in printing it, or have questions about printing any of my “PRINTABLES” don’t miss the rest of my tutorial on printables over at Amy’s place.

Lots of the questions that I frequently get…are answered there!

Now I’m off to check and see if my project is dry! I’m so impatient when it comes to drying….

See you tomorrow!

The Elusive Santa Claus

We are getting the finishing touches on at our house.  I have actually had a really HUGE design project wrap-up this week, and I finally feel free!

It’s an AMAZING feeling.
Like when I take my bra off at the end of the day!
AHHHH…..freedom!

So I should be madly dashing around, cleaning, baking and wrapping.
But I’m not.  I’m sitting.
And I’m kind of fine with it.

Along the lines with wrapping it up…..

Less Cake {more frosting} will be “wrapping it up” with today’s post.  I have decided to take a break until the New Year.

You should too.

Turn off the computer and spend some time with loved ones.  I know I get sucked into my computer, blogs, facebook, twitter…etc…and ignore those who I love most.

And not that you lovelies aren’t wonderful company, but you understand what I mean.

Make some memories with those who are physically in your presence.  Yes?

I also won’t be sending out any more copies of the “Elf Quote Poster”.  I will finish up what’s in my inbox, and then that’s gonna be it for this year.

Thank you so much for the OVERWHELMING response.  However after over 400(that’s right, not an exaggeration…..over 400!!!!) personalized e-mails containing the quote poster….I’m done.  So I hope all of you enjoy your season, and your singing.  Buddy would be proud!

But before I leave I have one last freebie printable for you.
It’s my last Christmas gift to you, my awesome readers!

It’s a set of package “tags” that you can print out and dress up your gifts.  I have a feeling a lot of you are madly dashing to wrap gifts today.  Anyway, maybe these would help.  I print mine on white cardstock, to give them a little more bulk.

(simply enlarge the picture until it’s at full resolution. Save to your desktop. And print. Please DO NOT re-post without a link back to this blog. Do not sell, alter, or claim as your own.)

The last two you can use as little tags on special gifts from Santa.  At our house we usually end up with one or two “surprises” that are shoved somewhere under the tree.  They always have unfamiliar wrapping paper, and no one will claim them.

Like last year, when my son realized that our “Elf on the Shelf” named Roy, was going to have to leave on Santa’s sleigh. He kind of lost it! (like major crying)

Brilliant people at the North Pole decided to leave him photo evidence that Santa, indeed, took Roy to the North Pole personally.

This photo, in an “elven” frame was left mysteriously under our tree. The photo has been lovingly placed in my son’s room all year. Waiting for the elf’s return.

Gotta love those extra Santa surprises!!

Hope you and your loved ones have a very merry holiday week.

I’ll see you back here in the New Year with more ideas, more fun, and MORE FROSTING!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Last Minute-On the Cheap!

Authored By: ellie g Author/Writer
December 20, 2010 --7:03 PM

I think it’s become a Less Cake {more frosting} tradition for me to give you some super last minute ideas. I’d like to think it’s because I’m trying to help you out.

When in reality, I’m becoming super dis-organized, and I’m actually doing these things last minute.

This one is a way to give last minute neighbor gifts.
(or in case someone brings you something….
and you totally didn’t get them anything….
but now you feel obligated.
Or does that only happen to me?)

It would also make a really simple hostess gift.

Start with a bottle of red colored soda. I am IN LOVE with Pomegranate 7-up.  Which only comes out at the holidays.  But you could also use Red Cream, Cherry, or even a super cheap knock-off brand.
No one’s gonna know.  (don’t you love that?)

1st step is remove the label.  I know, it’s not necessary.  But just do it, to humor me.  I HATE labels.  We just aren’t friends.  It should be a really easy removal.  They’re just glued on in one spot in the back.

Download, then print out my brand new freebie printable.
(did you say free?)
Yes.  Yes I did.

(simply enlarge the picture until it’s at full resolution. Save to your desktop. And print. Please DO NOT re-post without a link back to this blog. Do not sell, alter, or claim as your own.)

There are 2 long strips to go around the soda bottle.  1 label (the fa la la one) that you stick on top of that.  And a tag, to write on.

Super classy, super cheap, super easy.  And no “may your holiday be merry and sprite”.  Because, no offense to anyone who does this….but I’m not a huge fan of the little clever tags on neighbor gifts.
Look.
You gave me a sprite.
I totally appreciate it.
We will use it in our holiday entertaining.
But I don’t need it to make “sense” as a neighbor gift.
I get it.

It’s not rude.  It’s just that I’m not 5.

(does this admittal mean that you won’t bring me Sprite anymore?  Okay.  I LOVE the cute tags.  Cute away….I still need sprite!)

So print away, and no one will think you thought of them “last minute!”
